Samsun Milli Piyango Anatolian High School, is founded as the second anatolian school of Samsun with the name “Ilkadim Anatolian High school.
Originally planned to be a girls’ dormitory, later the building in the Ilkadım was converted to be a school and started to education in 1993-1994.
The increasing number of students in the following years, caused the physical conditions of the school building to be inadequate.
With the approval of The Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Secondary Education, the school moved to the building, which is recently used in Atakum. The school which is mostly equipped by the General Directorate of National Lottery, gave its first graduates in the 1999-2000 academic year.
The reason why the name of our school was changed to Onur Ateş Anatolian High School on 6 May 2012,
is to commemorate the teachers who lost their lives in the 2011 Van earthquake.
